e-Sankhyiki Portal
Data is everything nowadays it is raw material, considering the importance of management and availability of correct data the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has developed an e-Statistics Portal to provide real-time inputs to planners, policy-makers, researchers, and the general public to enhance user experience and data accessibility through the use of cutting-edge technologies and adoption of global best practices.
The portal aims to establish a comprehensive data management and sharing system to facilitate the dissemination of official statistics in the country.
The e-Sankyiki Portal has two modules:
- Data Catalogue Module: -This module lists the key data assets of the Ministry at one place, to make them easy to use. This module allows users to search within the dataset including tables and download the data of interest to enhance its value and re-usability. The module has seven data products, namely National Accounts Statistics, Consumer Price Index, Index of Industrial Production, Annual Survey of Industries, Periodic Labour Force Survey, Household Consumption Expenditure Survey, and Multi Indicator Survey.
- Macro Indicator Module: -This module provides time series data of key macro indicators, with filtering and visualization features, making it easier for users to access. The module also allows users to download custom datasets, and visualizations and share them through API (Application Programming Interface), thereby increasing the reusability of the data. The first phase of the module covers four major products of MoSPI: National Accounts Statistics, Consumer Price Index, Index of Industrial Production, and Annual Survey of Industries, covering data for the last ten years. The portal currently has over 1.7 million records.
